Color & Print Guide
How colors and prints are matched, dyed and produced for swimwear — from color cards to print types and file requirements.
Available colors
Our four core fabrics each come in a curated range of colors, from versatile neutrals to bold statement shades. Every color is available across all our standard production with no additional minimums.
Browse the styles available in these colors on our products page.
Want to see the current shades on our standard nylon/spandex matte fabric?
For the most accurate color reference, we recommend ordering our Intro Pack, which includes physical fabric swatch cards so you can see and feel the true colors in person.
Custom color dyeing
If the color you need is not available in our standard range, custom dyeing is possible. Please note:
- Fabric dyeing is done in full dye lots. The standard minimum order for a single custom color is typically 600 yards.
- If greige (undyed) fabric is not currently in stock, the minimum order quantity may be higher.
To minimise color variation: you can provide a Pantone reference using TPG or TCX color cards, and we will dye to that standard. Please note that some shade variation between dye lots is still possible. For the most accurate match, we also recommend sending us a physical fabric swatch.

Fabric printing
Not all fabrics are suitable for printing. We recommend using polyester-spandex fabrics for printed designs, as they offer superior print quality and significantly better color fastness compared to nylon-based fabrics. See the fabric guide for how the two base fabrics differ.
Prints can be applied in two ways:
- All-over print — the design is printed across the entire fabric, which is then cut into swimwear panels on a cutting table.
- Placement print — the print is placed at a fixed position on each swimwear panel (for example, a logo on the chest). You provide the panel files and the print artwork; we place the print on the panels, print it, then laser-cut the panels.
Whichever method you choose, please provide a high-resolution print artwork file and a mockup image showing how the print will look on the swimwear. Panel and measurement templates are covered in the size guide.
| Print method | Fabric | MOQ | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| All-over print | Polyester / spandex | No minimum | Printed across the full fabric, then cut with a cutting table. |
| All-over print | Nylon / spandex | No minimum | Possible but not recommended — color fastness is weaker than polyester. |
| Placement print | Polyester / spandex | No minimum | Print placed at a fixed position on each panel, then laser cut. |
| Placement print | Nylon / spandex | 20 yards per size panel | Not recommended — requires panel files and print artwork. |
Print sampling is charged at $10 per design.
Before production begins, we will align all design details with you to ensure the final result matches your expectations.
Minimising color variation: to avoid color discrepancies between your artwork and the finished fabric, we recommend referencing colors from our physical swatch cards, or sending us a Pantone reference (TPG or TCX) and we will dye to that standard.
Print lead times
Most fabric printing has no minimum order quantity — the exception is placement prints on nylon, which start at 20 yards per size panel. Print orders will add 4–7 days to the standard sample and bulk lead times. If design revisions are required after production begins, lead times will be extended by double that amount.
Common questions
What is the minimum for a custom color?
Custom dyeing is done in full dye lots, with a standard minimum of 600 yards per color. If greige fabric is not in stock, the minimum may be higher.
Can you print on nylon fabric?
Yes — nylon fabric can be printed using inkjet digital printing, which handles full-color designs well. Please note that color fastness on nylon is not as strong as on polyester, so we recommend polyester-spandex when maximum durability matters most.
How long does printing add to the lead time?
Print orders add 4–7 days to standard sample and bulk lead times. Design revisions made after production begin extend the lead time by double that amount.
